Nashville, TN; April 13: Persist Nashville, a local 501(c)3, supports students completing college. Approximately one-quarter of Metro Nashville Public School graduates earn a degree.  Persist Nashville provides resources to help more college students graduate in and beyond Nashville, Tennessee.

“Persist Nashville is always there when you need them,” Laurie Brown says, to provide the needed  support. Nonprofit Board Chair Laurie Brown supports Persist Nashville.

Laurie Brown’s dedication to helping others stems from an appreciation for the assistance she received throughout her life. Early in her career, she played a role in guiding and planning students’ academic futures in the Arkansas Delta. This led to her lifelong passion for providing resources for their’ higher learning.

Persist Nashville offers college coaching and professional guidance, helping students navigate the college enrollment process and succeed as students and later graduates. Brown and all Persist Nashville volunteers partner with Jennifer Hill, executive director of Persist Nashville, to better serve these first-generation college students.

Dakota, a current client, credits Persist Nashville for empowering her to make the most of her college experience by engaging in volunteer opportunities, becoming a Persist Nashville Student Ambassador, and SGA (Student Government Association) leader – serving as “the voice of the student body.” The nonprofit’s resources also helped prevent her college burnout and stress. Any college student can participate as a client. To learn more about Persist Nashville, visit their website today.
