History
Doing Good is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our Tax ID is 45-3030045, and this is our Exemption Letter.
Yesterday
Doing Good began as an idea, a need. It began as a quick idea of a quality television show to celebrate people. Afterwards, the founder met and spoke with several hundred people about nonprofit needs, wants, and preferences for the tv show and in general. During this time, a few recommended “this project” to become a nonprofit. More were consulted. Research was done. Pros and cons were weighed. Decisions were made.
The common need this research revealed was nothing new – for nonprofits to do more each year with either the same or fewer resources. The founder saw opportunity to assist agencies with their marketing and public relations, a common need many had shared. Doing Good’s mission became “To educate and engage communities by promoting and celebrating ‘Doing Good’ through volunteerism.”
Doing Good began celebrating other agencies’ volunteers through marketing and public relations using the art of storytelling. These celebrations continue today. Each agency benefits with awareness from publicity, marketing tools which they don’t spend time or money on, and as a result, their volunteers’ stories provide education and inspiration. Additionally, the volunteer receives well-deserved recognition, and agencies receive visibility and links to personalized, free tools for use in volunteer and staff recruitment and training, fundraising, and celebrations.
Doing Good received its 501c3 status in the fall of 2014, began celebrating volunteers locally, and grew slowly but surely. In time its geography increased from its home county to its 14-county area to nationwide. Its established values remain today: Inspiration, Authenticity, Integrity, Connectivity, Inclusivity, Quality, Support, and a Personal approach. Its Tax ID is 45-3030045, and this is its Exemption Letter. To see past 990 filings or any other information, email the Executive Director.
Today
As of early November, 2023, Doing Good has served 324 unique nonprofit and government agencies through 541 services. Today Doing Good serves these agencies through three programs: the podcast, blogs/articles, and videos. These allow the agencies to use the tools provided.
Doing Good volunteers live nationwide. All of them “are so cool,” says the founder. “Doing Good brings together incredible people who each see the importance in celebrating volunteers.” They represent nearly every demographic, various religions, economic backgrounds, and one, singular passion for celebrating volunteers.

Tomorrow
Thanks to Doing Good donors and volunteers, today’s programs continue and grow, providing agencies tools they can “plug and play.” In 2024, Doing Good will begin teaching them to do the marketing and public relations themselves. First, a webinar series will teach nonprofit professionals. Then, a consultant program will begin working with agencies on specific needs. Last but not least, the long-awaited television show will premier in August of 2024. The nonprofit will celebrate its 10th anniversary during the fall of 2024.
Yet, we also want to equip them to do the work themselves. Therefore, Doing Good is developing webinars to educate nonprofit professionals in marketing and public relations.
